Listening to your inner voice
Just like that little angel and the little devil on the Bugs Bunny’s shoulders, both telling him what he should do, we all have inner voices advising us in every endeavor and action and in particular, repair evolutions. Be it working on a piece of equipment shipboard, on your car, an appliance, those voices won’t be muted. Mark Twain said, “Good judgement is the result of experience and experience is the result of poor judgement”. Although I am a realist, I am also a pessimist when approaching problems. I remember some of my lessons (from my training) and have applied...
It could never happen to me, not on my watch.
I write this blog thinking of the men and women who are still in the workforce going to sea, yet my comments can be applied to daily living, travelling and even working around the home or on your car. Learned a lot of things, through these times, worked with many many people from all over. Most of my career was as a "working first" assistant...
Calluses to Computers
For years, I had double rows of calluses on the palms of my hands, I was a working First and almost nothing was too hot or too hard to do. Now, I am at my computer, probably more than 8 hours per day, working on Deep Sea Dreams and it is indeed, hard to do! Thinking about, exploring and creating designs that appeal to the maritime community is quite challenging. This is especially true because most of my life I was in the maritime field (35 years) and having never taken any course, be it marketing or graphic design, things tend to move slow, including my designs....
No one ever said, it would be easy (or quick)!
Wow The year is closing in once again, dam does time fly. Been so busy in the many aspects of developing a viable online business, I haven't had the time for much else. If your thinking about an online store, first pro tip, 99% of all the videos you watch on how to build a business, are bullshit! This has been an incredible learning experience. First, grasping and understanding marketing and the concepts of social media, from FB, to Instagram, Twitter, Google and more, how they relate, how to market on those sites and all the necessary things you need to...
